Refugee Development Program

Refugee Development Program

The Refugee Development Program mentors resettled refugees through personal guidance and support toward a sustainable future in the U.S. The RMP utilizes a framework where refugees are equipped through a personal mentor relationship and guided through the Refugee Development Handbook and Workbook. Our Handbook was written expressly as a guide for mentors who are willing to dedicate their time and talents to help a refugee family or individual establish livelihood and reach wellness, mobility, and fulfillment in American society.

MILESTONES

The difficulties refugees face when arriving in the U.S. are those of survival – cultural understanding, social integration, and economic sustainability. The Refugee Development Program was created to address these issues. The Program addresses these issues by helping refugees master the following seven key Milestones.

  1. ENGLISH LANGUAGE: The foundation to success
  2. HOMECARE: Manages and cares for the home
  3. FINANCIAL LITERACY: Understands and organizes finances
  4. JOB & CAREER PREPARATION: Equipped and ready for the workplace
  5. TRANSPORTATION & NAVIGATION: Able to navigate and understand surroundings
  6. HEALTH & WELLNESS: Aware of resources for healthy living
  7. RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Confident in knowledge of rights in the U.S.
